Climate Detectives
What is Climate Change?
Climate change is the world’s temperature getting hotter and colder and long-term changes in weather. For example, the global temperature rose about 1 Celsius from 1901 to 2020. Sea levels have rose from 1.7mm to 3.2mm higher than before. The main cause of climate change is mostly due to burning fossil fuels and human activities.
What is this? What are we doing?
We are a secondary school in Firhouse, working to detect how Climate Change is affecting our local river, the Dodder. We originally started as part of the Climate Detectives, but we realize we could be so much more, and actually help our community. The PowerPoint you are about to see is our data, research and evidence working together to create a Climate Detective's project.
